THE PATH LESS FOLLOWED

I’ve never been good at doing what others expect.

Most people plan careers in straight lines. Get the degree, climb the ladder, retire at 65.

I followed what I foresaw I would need. Not what the market wanted. Not what my parents expected.

This is how three seemingly unrelated paths became one system.

CHAPTER 1
The Immature Boy Who Went to Australia

When I was young, I was immature.

I had my BA in Business Studies. I could analyze a company’s balance sheet.

But I couldn’t analyze myself.

So I went to Australia for a working holiday. One year away from everything.

That year changed me.

I wasn’t learning accounting. I was learning character.

Who are you when nobody knows your name? How do you build yourself from nothing?

Australia didn’t give me credentials. It gave me foundation.

The immature boy who left came back understanding: success isn’t what you know—it’s who you become.

CHAPTER 2
Foreseeing the Need for Money

Looking toward marriage, I foresaw clearly: I need money to build my family’s future.

Not “want.” NEED. For security. For freedom.

Everyone is a Company

My BBA taught company principles: balance sheets, cash flow, assets and liabilities.

Then I realized: EVERYONE is a company.

Apply company principles to your personal life.

When You Invest Long Enough, Company Becomes Human

After years investing, companies stopped being spreadsheets. They became living organisms with personalities.

I saw company culture, character, income patterns—not just numbers.

Suddenly, I understood my own life differently.

When Money Flows, You Don’t Worry Anymore

The turning point wasn’t having “enough money.”

It was understanding cash flow.

£500,000 in assets + no cash flow = poor.£50,000 + strong cash flow = rich.

Once I built cash flow—money working for me— I stopped worrying.

Today, my investment portfolio is primary income. Not luck. Principles applied.

CHAPTER 3
Foreseeing Education’s True Purpose

Planning for children, I foresaw: Hong Kong education is not what I want.

Excellent academics. Top scores.

But I couldn’t see character.

No Mind, No Judgement. Easy to Manipulate.

Students who recite textbooks but can’t think independently.

Perfect scores but no decisions without authority.

Brilliant minds. Weak hearts. No compass.

Discovering Montessori

I learned Montessori properly. AMS certification. 540 hours training. Teaching at schools.

When we moved to UK in 2021, I set up Montessori classroom at home.

Four years with my own two children.

Result? Independent. Focused. Confident.

They know how to figure things out. They believe they can handle challenges.

This is what education should create.

CHAPTER 4
Managing Property = Managing Hearts

I managed premium residential and commercial properties in Hong Kong and UK.

Different buildings. Different clients.

But the core is the same.

Property Management Is People Management

You manage hearts. Provide vision. Work toward same direction.

Buildings are concrete. What makes them work is people aligned toward common goals.

When You Own Your House, It’s Still the Same

You’re managing your family’s expectations and dreams.

Same principles. Different scale.

It’s not just mortgage rates. It’s fulfilling your family’s goals through property.

CHAPTER 5
What I’ve Witnessed

I’ve met many talented people and watched them struggle:

Worked too hard, broke their bodies. Successful by 40. Breaking down by 45.

Earned a lot, still worried. High salaries. No understanding of cash flow. Paralyzed by fear.

Bought houses, can’t turn them into dream homes.£500,000 property. Don’t understand what adds value or how property fits financial strategy.

Family lives together, hearts are separate. Same roof. No real conversations. No shared vision.

Just coexistence, not connection.

These talented people—working hard, earning well—missing the integration that creates actual family success.

CHAPTER 6
Why I’m Building This

These problems exist because people lack FOUNDATION.

Information everywhere (Google, YouTube, social media).No ground truth (principles to evaluate information).

Know what others did. Don’t know why it worked for their specific situation.

Can follow instructions.Can’t make independent decisions.

I’ve lived the integration: Building portfolio while managing properties while raising Montessori children while immigrating.
